Introducing the Wire Erosion Training Course

This course is designed for operators and engineers who want to build a solid, working foundation in wire erosion machining. It focuses on the fundamentals of operating a wire EDM machine safely, confidently and correctly — with an emphasis on real-world application, not theory for theory’s sake.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to independently set up jobs, produce programs at the machine, and run parts in cut mode to a high standard of accuracy and repeatability.

Machine Operating Procedure

Understand how to correctly and safely operate a wire erosion machine from start to finish.

Technology Settings

Centre / Edge / Slot Finding

Accurately set workpieces ready for cutting.

Delegates will learn proven methods for finding centres, edges and slots to correctly locate parts on the machine. This ensures programs run as intended and dimensional accuracy is maintained.

Dry Running a Program

Check programs safely before cutting begins.

This module demonstrates how and why to dry run programs, identifying potential issues before entering cut mode. Delegates will understand how to verify movement, positioning and program logic without risking the workpiece or machine.

Machining in CUT Mode

Put everything into practice and machine parts with confidence.

Delegates will run programs in cut mode, monitoring the machining process and understanding what to look for during a cut. The focus is on producing parts efficiently while maintaining accuracy and surface quality.
